Haha damn! Where'd you surf? Still pretty warm in Bodega today from what I felt. Saw a couple people surfing in springsuits and they seemed to be alright.

I'm thinking of going out to Bodega later this afternoon.
I've been really struggling with getting out to waves at the right time, and would love to skim with someone who could give me some pointers.

I was out at Dillon's on Saturday, but it was too w'y for me to use my foamie (it's somewhat new and the sand wasn't really sticking), so I mostly stuck to my woody on the sand. Getting better at getting on and could do pop shuvits. I'd like to come back to Bodega Bay - possibly to other good beaches as well - but it'd help if others were out there as well. Or perhaps there are other better areas in the bay area to go nowadays?

How are the conditions right now and what beaches are set up?
I'm planning on going early Friday morning if it's worth it

Friday conditions are looking good. I'm not sure how the beaches are setup though because I haven't checked anything in a while. Pretty sure the Cove will be good though and maybe Wright's.

Thanks Deebo! I'll come out

I'm still really new to this and have only wrapped a couple waves. It would be cool to ride with some locals. I'll be at the cove Friday morning around like 7:30.

Actually, when is it usually the best at the cove?

I guess as heins57 points out in another thread, there seems to be a meet-up at 3:45 pm or so on Thursday at the Gray Whale Cove. Can you come then? And any others planning to come along as well?

Common misunderstanding - talking about 2 different coves here in 2 different "bays"... (about 80 miles apart)

"The Cove" is in Bodega
Gray Whale is in Pacifica/HMB

oyoyoy! *scratches head* :-) Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I can be in Bodega Bay during the weekend - does anyone want to come out then?

Haha yeah probably should have come up with a less generic name than "The Cove". It's located on the southern end of Bodega Bay below the golf course homes. You have to take one of the regional park trails to get down to it (not the private trail) and then when you get to the beach at the bottom you walk either north or south, depending on which trail you took, over rocks to The Cove. Here's an aerial photo of where it is on what looks to be a pretty nice day:

Ah, thanks for explaining! So, would that area be the following region?

https://www.google.com/maps/place/38%C2%B018'17.1%22N+123%C2%B000'55.8%22W/@38.304747,-123.01549,304m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

It looks similar (to me at least :-).

Wonderful! I'll try it on Sat/Sun - what time of day works best there, do you think?
