This got me searching the web a little and the most interesting fact I found was this:

Albert Kogler, Jr., 18 May 7, 1959 Great white shark Killed while swimming in less than 15 feet (4.6 m) of water off Baker Beach, San Francisco, California.

Albert. It reads funny because it came from a chart of attacks since 1926 that I copied and pasted from. One other one that is difficult to find details on is a dog and his boy on the shoreline in Alameda. From what I can tell is that it took place near the whaling station in Alameda which I believe to be close to the southeast end of the Richmond Bridge.

wow - crazy! And was it the dog and his boy that was killed by the shark or the dog and his boy killed the shark? Or did the dog kill his boy because his boy killed the shark?
