i miss Laguna now. I remember at the contest you had that nice big camera, and the quality showed. altogether that was a sick vid.

that was legit...i liked it, though i felt the clips didnt need fade in and fade out every time. really clean picture quality. what are you shooting with?

yeah it was hard to get away from the fade in/fade out thing, it just went too well with the song i thought so i kept doing it. But in the Octoberfest and Skimbash vids i was able to stay away from using that effect as much. check em out! http://www.youtube.com/user/fortwendy38

for WCS and skimbash i used my buddy logans camera (logans the guy who brought down the giant speakers for cramikfest last year) its a some sort of sony hdr fx 1000 series im pretty sure. and for octoberfest i used my canon t1i. The canon has about the same resolution as the sony but for about a 3rd of the price. BUT it is much harder to use because the auto focus doesnt work very well and its difficult to keep everything in focus manually. There are a few shots in Octoberfest that are definitely out of focus and if i had enough time I could of probably gotten some better quality shots but the t1i's battery shit out so i only filmed for about 45 minutes. for WCS i filmed for 2 days on the same charge.

for still frame pictures the canon is the sickest but when it comes to shooting video with a dslr nothing really compares to the functionality of a real camcorder.

yeah, i was talking about the video that showed up in the link. i was just saying that the video was kinda repetitive with the fades, not all your stuff. The Skimbash video was pretty cool.

Thats nice you were able to get some good shots with the the T1i.. For the price, the video quality is great, and lets you shoot video with manual features, which are usually only available in higher end, expensive camcorders, all while retaining a bigger, and more advanced lens than camcorders within the same price range. A better example is the GH1..it has almost all the things a standard camcorder does, including zoom while shooting, only in a dslr body.. I guess it depends on what your needs are, but for functionality and price, a dslr is the way to go IMO.
