early cramikfest recon

Post by potter » Sun Sep 11, 2011 10:02 pm

yesterday we checked some spots from SF to HMB, today I checked west marin. Everything looks absolutely awful right now, hope it changes soon. Montara definitely looks like the early leader in the clubhouse right now (having not seen Bodega, but the pics 4255 posted of Wrights look promising)

Hmmm McClure's looks kind of fun. Always been flat every other time I've been there, which is like twice. The Cove has been pretty good the last couple days, but almost too steep for the high tide and swell size. It looks like it would be really good with a decent size north and/or south ground swell.

haha I know Nikki's phone pics are pretty crappy quality. Today at the Cove I got more fun waves than I have gotten the whole summer!

^Saturday October 1st. Long range forecast looks a little worrysome right now showing a big WNW swell for mid next week, which would screw up alot of beaches, but let's hope that swell doesn't materialize....

not to mention tomorrow's swell...

maybe the swell will stay through to the 1st and we can return cramikfest to FEB's

Hey y'all. I got a 9-5 now so my skimming life has hit a huge bump in the road. Freaking adulthood... Anyways it looks like there is some fat swell on the horizon heading here for next week mid-week. I'm not talking about the swell peaking tonight/tomorrow- its different. It might shake things up a bit in terms of site selection. That being said, I can't wait to see everybody and skim again soon! (Skimmed the cove for the first time in a month last night and even though the beach was kind of washed out it still had some good shape and it was fun!)

Looks like that possible big swell next week has been downgraded to not anything bigger than we got yesterday, so slopes should be safe. Still to early to tell what is likely to happen on the 1st yet, but my fingers are crossed!

The sand is still setup at the Cove, even after that bigger swell last week, and it was really fun today:

Saturday is looking good swell and dubwise for now, but the big swell tomorrow is a little concerning. Hopefully the dub kinda keeps the swell angle fresh, steep, and away from the Cove athough the slope will probably be fine regardless...
