Local diving

Post by crass » Mon Jan 23, 2012 1:17 pm

Anyone had any experience diving around here? My dad gave me all his diving gear for a wedding present and I'd like to get back into it.
Also if anyone wants to buy a two piece (overalls style) XL wetsuit from the 80s...

In the Santa Cruz area no good visibility.
Bodaga at high tide for Ab's, try it.
Everyone goes at low tide and gets banged up, at high tide is much calmer but you have to go a little deeper and no crowds.

Thanks 57. I was thinking of asking at the shop next to Dikemans but I also think I could easily handle a dip at Duncans Cove or even along the pier at Doran. It's definately sketch around here, but no more than the kelp beds in Monterey where I got certified.

There is a large dive shop in Pacifica called Anderson's Scuba. It's next to the gym I go to and I've always wondered where they dive around here. I don't dive so I never asked. I would ask them.

Baker Dave once paid me(Taco Bell probably) to swim out in the ocean and retrieve his board that he refused to get. He was ready to write it off. It was about 50 yards out and going, going, going.
