Nose Job

Post by TheGlyph » Sun Sep 02, 2012 11:26 am

Hey folks,

Image

I'm seeing a lot of wear on the nose of my board, and I'm wondering if/what I should do about it? Should I just glob some sun-cure on there? I'd like to do the most "correct" thing I can.

Any help is much appreciated!

I don't care about the color much, I just don't to damage the board (since it's exposed carbon now)

Mix some epoxy up and basically paint it on. The epoxy will be like water so just make a little and give it to coats. The foam is closed cell (water proof)so you can go a long way even after the carbon is gone.

much ado about nothing, IMO. In the long run, repairs are a waste of time and money.

Pretty much true on potter quote. Unless you do the wicked ripper out at lefts things should last a while. What the tail of your board look like? you drop deep water or sand start?

just coat all that in super glue, and you should be good for at least 3 months. Honestly, super glue is great for some repairs because it seeps into the fabric and seals up everything.

watch out for those toxic vapors though, when you do it.

I'm with Daver, duct tape.
If you quit leaning on your board and skim, it wouldnt wear like that, IMO.

I ended up going with Hein57's advice and got some 2-part marine epoxy and am pretty happy with the result. Thanks for all the options everyone!
