what time do you recommend? I can be there any time
I had always heard its best around high tide. or is that only at certain spots?

I'm still new at this. I've only been riding for about a year

I always try to come at least 2 hours before high tide, generally the waves are better and if one spot is bad i still have time to peep others... also try skimonline its a great resource it even tells you where spots are.

If the waves are bad i would drive around and see what spots look better at what times. By doing so youll be able to recognize landmarks to find spots easier, if your really into it google Santa Cruz Skimboarding and youll see pretty much every spot the trouble is finding them haha

I know most of the spots now, but I'm figuring out which spot is best in certain conditions. It sucks to make the two hour drive for a bust.

Yeah i feel it, i commute from Fremont and will commute from Berkeley come June.

Honestly part of the fun in discovering new spots is finding them, coming on a day when it works, and of course running into loaks. One of my best days was bumping into the cramik crew at SLS and into some local at SpotX in santa cruz.

Also try posting in the Baker or Bodega Bay thread people here are way more friendly than skimonline

I ended up wasting a lot of time at 26th. Anything big enough was breaking too far out.
But at least I was hanging out at the beach.

Traffic back to the Bay Area was ridiculous today
