Santa Cruz Thread

Post by xleoyangx » Thu Nov 12, 2015 3:16 pm

Doesnt look like theres a santa cruz thread so i guess ill start:

As of 11/11/15 at low tide

West Santa Cruz: Typical spots were looking decent almost lining up but the tide was too low up to sunset

26th Area:
26th was no good
38th sand was there too many rocks
the cove: tide was too low possible sider

Capitola: same as the west santa cruz spots a little better due to natural w protection

Probably workable on a low to mid tide

[Edit]

I have a feeling these places may work:

26th area was okay
Capitola low tide

West Santa Cruz is a no go

26th area was pretty fun go 2hrs b4 high tide imo (see photos)

Capitola area mid tide was better than high tide (brown water photo)

I'm planning on making the drive out tomorrow. Should I check out 26th or Seabright? During the winter I started going to seabright near the jetty because there was no sand at 26th, but from you pics it looks like the sand is back.

Hey Mitch - I'll be coming out tomorrow as well probably pretty early, from my experience SC works best on a rising tide (i dont have enough time to explore other times). Please note that my updates; Capitola, 26th area, and West SC are vague intentionally.

If you dont know where all the spots are I would go to Seabright (aka 3rd) a couple hours before peak tide, make sure you check both the north (its been okay) and south end. If you see me there (i look just like my profile picture but not in stick figure form, the bottom of my board is orange) everywhere else was bad.

Sounds good, id come earlier if i were you.

Sometimes around peak tide SC turns into a lake and stops pushing...
